Student Leadership

Wakwakurna

The Wakwakurna (which means ‘kid’ in Kaurna) at Modbury School P-6 is the voice of the student body. Comprised of elected representatives from each class, the Wakwakurna serves as a platform for students to voice their ideas, concerns, and suggestions to improve our school environment. Members of the Wakwakurna actively participate in decision-making processes, organise events and initiate projects that benefit the entire school community.

Student Leaders

Our Student Leaders, comprising of our Year 6 students, are chosen for their skills, leadership potential, and dedication to serving others. They proudly represent our school, acting as role models for their peers and exemplifying our school’s values. Whether organising activities, hosting events, or welcoming visitors, our Student Leaders demonstrate these values in action. We believe every student has the potential to lead. We offer a supportive environment where students can develop essential skills, embrace leadership opportunities, and positively impact the world around them.

House Captains

The House Captains, comprising of our Year 6 students, play a pivotal role in fostering a sense of belonging and friendly competition within our school community. Each student is assigned to one of our three houses – Wartu (Wombat), Nantu (Kangaroo) and Kuula (Koala) and House Captains are responsible for leading their respective houses throughout the year, with particular emphasis on Sports Day.
